| Securing Life and Property at Center Point Energy During Hurricane Ike Recovery Operations |
Just as Hurricane Ike was slamming against the Texas Coast MARC's Tactical
Operations Team, with just two hours to pack headed to Houston, Texas to respond to emergency security operations.
Protection of life and property were our primary tasks. After completing a risk and threat
assessment of the sites, our team locked down and secured the assigned facilities.

| Protecting Corporate Staff and Assets Was Critical To Center Point Energy's Recovery Operations |
High-risk operations during times of disaster are critical to maintenance crews working in and around the plants. With
many despirate and displaced people in the area, neutralizing threats to life and property at Center Point Energy proved to
be a highly critical need.
Fuel, food and water supplies were highly limited to emergency and law enforcement personnel. Although these basic
items were in limited supply our team was able to adapt and overcome providing necessary supplies and fuel to conduct our
operations 24 / 7.

Performing such operations in disaster areas is not without risks. Our team encountered live gun-fire, attempted
vandalism, theft attempts while working closely with Texas City Police Department, Texas State Troopers, and Homeland Security
to coordinate activies and efforts.
Many sites did not have available comfortable living arrangements therefore, many were living in tents
or other less than ideal environments. This was minor in size and impact compared to those without homes, families, with many
citizens loosing everything they owned.
